According to Mauro F. Guillen, director of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies at the Wharton School, the current financial crisis in the U.S. and Europe will probably not have the same enduring affects that the momentous currency drops in Asia and arguably similar declines in Russia, Brazil and Argentina that hit in the late 90’s.

“Although GDP growth has vanished in Europe and the U.S., the world is still far from seeing the economy really plummet as a result of the credit crunch,” Guillen wrote in the Cairo newspaper Al-Ahram.

A Great Depression linkage is way off base, he thinks. And, moreover, the economies bounced back and the stock market proved to be the greatest investment of the 20th century if held long enough. The Banking industry will recover. How to deal with the banking crisis is another matter, and an individual one.

The short term will see instability, but it can be ripe for the savvy investor. Like shopping off season, the deals for the summer are in the Fall, and For the Fall in the Spring. If you can overcome your fear, you can truly do well, but like that new coat, you have to wait until it can really pay off.

Flexible financial markets, government infusions of capital and continued focus on education and training will bring on recovery. Historically the creation of wealth generators has seen the change. And resources of all kinds renew themselves even in the direst of times.

Are you putting off trading in your gas guzzler because you’re concerned that there are no auto loans for low income bad credit customers? You shouldn’t be. All you need to know is to do some research online and you will find several listings for companies who specialize in auto loans for low income bad credit borrowers.

In order for each company to give you the best quote, they will need to know three things. First, they will need to know the type of car and price range you are looking in. Second, they will need to know the amount of down payment you have or the value of any trade in. Third, and most important, they will need to know your credit score. If your credit score is extremely low, you can expect to pay a higher interest rate than you might see advertised as they will consider you a higher risk. If, however, you just have a few slow pays, you may get an interest rate that is not that different from those offered by your local bank. Most websites have online applications for your convenience. Once they have received your information and pulled your credit report, someone will contact you to discuss your options.

Although it may benefit you to research several different sites, you may want to inquire whether or not each and every one of them must pull your credit report. Each time a creditor checks into your credit, it can have an affect on your score. Since interest rates depend so much on the score, several credit pulls could cost you in the long run. It may benefit you to obtain a free credit report online first when researching availability of auto loans for low income bad credit individuals. Once you have a score, you may be able to discuss options while you are shopping and ultimately only have your credit pulled by the company you feel is giving you the best deal.

Amscot Financial is a company that is growing by leaps and bounds. Its founder is Scotsman Ian Mackechnie, who grew up working in his father’s bakery before and after school. Hard working Mackechnie relocated to Tampa, Florida once he sold his father’s bakery and has made quite a name for himself. Amscot Financial, named for America and Scotland, now has 113 locations in 14 central Florida counties.

The idea behind Amscot is to provide a convenient financial store, if you will, where people can handle their daily business transactions. He got the idea from watching his fellow employees cashing their checks at local bars and businesses rather than banks. Now, thanks to Mackechnie’s brainchild, they can still cash their paychecks in their local neighborhoods at his check cashing store on the corner. In addition to cashing your paycheck, Amscot provides personal check cashing services. They can protect themselves against an Amscot bounced check by giving you a prepaid debit card or credit card that you can use like cash. They also offer payday advance loans, Western Union wire transfers, notary services, fax and copy services, currency exchange, money orders, and even stamps and envelopes. In most locations they can even handle paying your cell phone or utility bills for you. At tax time, they can help with your tax preparation and do refund anticipation loans. The idea is to have one place that can handle all of your potential financial needs providing as much convenience to the customer as possible.

Amscot is planning on 250 to 300 stores in the next five years. Ian Mackechnie is constantly looking at ways to provide additional convenience at a high level of service to each and every person in the locality. He currently enjoys having one of the most admired business models in the industry.

“How was I supposed to know my wife took out $300.00 and forgot to tell me? I’m sorry but I just cannot make that check I wrote you good right now.” Have you ever had to say something like this? Have you ever bounced a check? Well, it’s a costly mistake to be sure, but it helps to know the bounced check collection laws in your state if you can’t cure the problem right away. Although they vary widely from state to state, most laws are set up to protect the payee. Unfortunately, that’s not you in this situation.

There are also companies that are employed these days to obtain this collection who actually make money when your debt is settled. The creditor may pay a little for this service, but trust me when I tell you, you will pay a lot.

The bounced check collection laws usually provide protection to individuals from private collection agencies threatening imprisonment for bad debt. Although it is possible to be arrested in many states for bad debts, the bounced check collection laws require that plans for prosecution in a court action must be in place before threats of sending an individual to jail can be made. It is commonplace, however, for collection agencies to report your indiscretion to the credit reporting bureaus. If and when you settle your debt, and believe me quicker is better, you will want to save all supporting documentation (most importantly evidence that payment has been accepted in full) and send it to the three major credit bureaus. They are Equifax in Atlanta, GA, Experian in Allen, TX and TransUnion in Chester, PA. Most people don’t realize that written evidence of payment is required before a credit bureau will show your debt resolved.

One of the most lenient of the bounced check collection laws is that there is no protection from collection attempt if the check may have been written by a spouse or joint account holder. If your name is on that account, you are jointly liable for the debt in most states. This has happened many times in divorce situations and can be devastating to your credit report. Keep a watchful eye on your household expenditures and cure any mistakes that might occur as rapidly as possible.

The very idea of tackling debt consolidation sends many running for their credit cards in abject fear and Boulder county co debt consolidation is no exception. Luckily, with a few simple steps, and a little understanding of the process, debt consolidation becomes a much gentler animal.

 - For Boulder county co debt consolidation, (or for debt consolidation in most other counties as well) start with the basics. Make a thorough list of all your current debts and monthly outgo. Be realistic. If your spending includes $100.00 worth of Starbucks a week, make sure and include that in your written budget. After all, no one has to know about that mocha latte half-caff pumpkin spice addiction but you. Knowing what you can, and more importantly what you WILL pay towards bills every month can save you from a merry go round of even more debt problems down the road.

- Talk to debt consolidation companies. These companies can usually manage to get your payments lowered, occasionally adjust your interest rate, and even change the date your payments are due. Don’t be afraid to shop around and compare fees. Most Boulder county co debt consolidation companies will charge a fee for their services, but it is generally minimal in comparison to the pile up of late fees, finance charges and collection fees they can clear up for you in return.

- Stick to your payment. Establishing a good steady payment history goes a long way with creditors should you ever need to re-negotiate the terms of your debt consolidation arrangement.

Once you’ve completed these steps you can sit back, relax, and wonder why you were ever afraid of debt consolidation in the first place.

When I wanted to switch from Visa to an American Express business card, I didn’t quite realize what I was getting myself into. Not having kept up with the company’s new products and services that have been introduced over the years, I figured I would just get that classic green American Express card and be done with it. What I didn’t realize was that there are now several different cards to choose from, each offering various perks and protections. Of course there were different fees and annual interest rates associated with each one too. I am not very good at reading the “fine print,” so that’s why I’m glad I decided to use an independent third party to help me choose an American Express business card that best fits my needs.

There are many websites out there that allow users to compare all the credit cards offered by major banks and corporations. This was very helpful to me in my latest search because I was able to see the different features, interest rates, and special rewards that I would get if I signed up. I could easily see how the American Express card stacked up to competitors, which enabled me to make a more informed decision.

Before I actually visited one of these websites, I had a couple of questions about how they worked. Fortunately, I was able to find the answers to these questions relatively quickly. First, I wanted to know if I would be getting a genuine American Express card issued directly from that company, or if I would be getting one that was backed by some outfit I’ve never heard of. I discovered that if I did fill out an application for an American Express card, it would indeed be the real deal. The website simply acts as an information provider and probably gets a commission for every application they steer towards the banks.

A second question I had was how secure the whole process was. After all, I didn’t want some random website to have access to my personal financial information. Again, what I found out really put my mind at ease. Any application forms I chose to fill out would be done so directly on the card issuer’s official website. My American Express card application was submitted over a secure server and none of my personal information ever found its way to a third party.

Websites that offer side-by-side comparisons of credit cards are free to use and are an exceptional tool for consumers. I recommend checking out some of these websites before you apply for an American Express card. By doing so, you’ll be able to shop around for the best deals and offers without having to expend a lot of time or effort. So go fill out an application today, and you’ll have a brand-new American Express card in your wallet before you know it!

There are advantages disadvantages for internet banking, and it really depends on how you bank and the level of “state of the art” of the bank you deal with. Let me explain:

Online banking can show you up to the minute information on your accounts, depending on the bank. But some vendors don’t report right away and you still don’t have an accurate balance online. Lots of banks like Commerce Bank of New York and New Jersey, for example, have a “pending” area of transactions that have come out of your account but are not posted yet. Just make sure you know that posted and pending are not the same. But generally, pending will be posted. It’s just banking convention.

if you start to use online bill pay, you may discover to your chagrin that some banks will cut a check to pay your bill, and take the money out so the check they write does not bounce(!) but others just cut the check, and you can ironically bounce THEIR checks!! I know, it makes no sense. And then they charge you an overdraft.

You can transfer easily between accounts, and keep a pretty accurate record.

Since the advent of internet banking, it’s now possible to go online and see exactly what is going on with your account and how much money you have at any given moment. This has saved me lots of times, when I forgot to write a cash withdrawal down in my check register! Internet banking has allowed me to transfer funds electronically in a matter of an instant, saving me from huge overdraft fees and return check charges. You can pay bills online, transfer payments to credit cards, make online purchases, and complete other financial transactions as well. What would we do without internet banking? I can’t imagine going back to the old way of calling the automated system over the telephone and waiting as the recorded voice read off my cleared checks and deposits! It seems so archaic!

Most all banks offer internet access to accounts as a convenience service to their customers, and it is relatively easy to set up. You just need to go to your bank’s website and set up a username or ID (usually your account number) and password and you’re on your way. You can even transfer this data to your computer based bookkeeping system such as Quickbooks or Quicken, to easily track your income and expenditures throughout the year. This is especially handy at tax time! Internet banking also allows you to apply for various types of loans and have the money placed directly into your account in a relatively short period of time. You can also make investments in certificate of deposit accounts as well as other financial transactions. Just make sure that you are banking with an FDIC insured financial institution to provide you peace of mind that you are doing business with a legitimate bank that can protect your deposits and investments. You work hard for money so don’t leave anything to chance.

So I always look for a bank that writes bank checks when they pay your bills, and the rest should fall into place. Generally they don’t charge fees if you do some form of direct deposit. All banks have different posting rules. So ask them before you open the account.

When the concept of banking first arrived on the scene, a bank was viewed as a place where people could deposit their money in order to keep it safe. This was the premise of the most ancient of the banks. But the person who came up with the idea of a bank loan – or a bank that loans out money to people for an interest charge, can be credited with the most important inventions of all time. The loans fall into many categories, but generally are either personal or business. A personal bank loan includes any form of loan for which you are personally responsible.

Today, banks have been synonymous with bank loans. Nearly every individual who has a bank account has a bank loan of some sort. And living up to this reputation, the modern day banks offer loans for every imaginable need or requirement. Speaking for myself, my first relationship with a bank was when I opened my first savings account. But it has been the personal bank loan that has made me dependent on the bank for my survival. I took my first bank loan when I wanted to buy a two-wheeler. It was an auto bank loan or a bank loan given for the specific purpose of buying a vehicle. My next bank loan was taken when I wanted to buy a flat. Nobody in the present day and age (unless they are born to money) has enough money lying around to make big ticket purchases like a flat or an apartment, without having to resort to a bank loan. I myself could never have hoped to buy a flat without a bank loan. (Of course, it is another matter altogether that I will continue to pay this bank loan, with interest, for another fifteen years to come!) Even a mortgage is just another variety of a bank loan issued for housing purposes, with collateral attached.

There are also other types of bank loans issued for various purposes. A personal bank loan will enable you to buy a broad spectrum of goods or services. This sort of bank loan will come in handy for repairs, renovations, marriages, celebrations, events or any other expenses that you don’t have cash lying around for. And then of course, there are student bank loans. There are bank loans that will help you buy a car. And again, there are bank loans that will help you buy computers, washing machines and other consumer goods. Broadly speaking, even credit cards are a form of a bank loan that you can repay. And some banks even offer you loans to pay up other loans you may have taken in the past!

Bank loans issued to individuals for the purpose of housing are probably the vast majority of loans issued by banks. But they may not compare in volume or value to bank loans issued to businesses worldwide. Whether it is a small business operated out of the home or a large business that needs millions of dollars in order to tide over a cash flow problem or to acquire assets, banks loans issued to businesses far outstrip individual bank loans. One could go so far as to say that without bank loans, the vast majority of business worldwide would collapse. Small wonder then that banking, and by association investment, lending, finance and credit are the words that drive business in the modern day.

We do almost everything online. We can check email, order gifts and even do our banking online. When you open a free bank account online you never again have to wait in line to have a teller assist you with your financial transactions.

Most major financial institutions now offer their customers the ability to have a bank account online. This gives the customers the convenience of being able to check their bank account balance, pay bills and even transfer money between accounts. You simply visit the website of your bank and use the links provided to sign-up so you have access to your bank account online.

For someone who has traditionally used the services of a bank teller it might seem a bit overwhelming to think about having a bank account online. They enjoy the person-to-person interaction and feel confident when they walk out of the bank with a deposit slip in hand.

You can feel just as secure and confident when you have a bank account online. Each of your transactions is documented and you receive an authorization number for each bill payment you make. Since there is no cost when you open a free bank account online, there are generally no fees, and paying bills, including postage, is free.

When you have a bank account online you may even be able to have direct deposit. Direct deposit is when your pay check is directly deposited into your bank account online on each payday. This means you no longer have to visit the bank after work when you get paid. You simply log in to your bank account online and you’ll find the money already there for you. Your employer will still supply with a record of your pay and deductions but it saves a time-consuming step for you.

Another nice feature of having a bank account online is that you can easily set-up post-dated payments. If you are going on vacation but don’t want to miss your credit card bill payment, you can set it up so it is deducted from your account and electronically send to the credit card company on the date you specify. You can do this with almost all of your payments which means that you will never again overlook a payment’s due date.

This saves the trouble of having to write a post-dated check, put it in an envelope, find a stamp and mail it before you depart on your vacation. It’s simply a much easier method.

Having a bank account online is the next step in banking. With all of the security features available you can do your everyday banking in confidence from the convenience of your own home.

Is a bounced check a misdemeanor or felony? The truth is that it varies by state. Bounced checks are a fact of life, it just matters whether you intended to bounce it or not. People do make mistakes.

Here is what happens with a bounced check:

After giving your check to a merchant, the merchant sends your check to the bank to collect the money.

If you do not have enough money in your account to cover the check, the bank will dishonor, or not pay, the merchant for your check.

When this happens, your check has “bounced”. Your bank will return the check to the merchant and the bank or a collection agency will send you a Notice of Dishonor.

The Notice of Dishonor will tell you that you still owe the merchant the face value of the check and that you also owe a returned check fee to the bank or collection agency.

After your bank sends you this Notice of Dishonor, the bank is no longer involved in collecting on your check.

The collection becomes between you, the merchant and any collection agency the merchant may choose to involve.

The law sets very specific procedures for the merchant and debt collection agencies to follow in their actions to collect the money that you owe them.

You will bounce one check in your life, so just be aware that we all make mistakes, but if you become the victim of fraud, then that is another matter.
